Consultancy for the extension works of IRCCS “S.Maria Nascente” in Milan (2007 -2010).

Isabella Steffan has worked as a consultant on accessibility issues for the extension works of the Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi O.N.L.U.S. Healthcare Centre, Via Capecelatro/Via Gozzadini, Milan. The works concern a new Rehabilitation Centre, the University Education Centre and a new Church (arch. Clara Rognoni and Paolo Valeriani (archh. Clara Rognoni e Paolo Valeriani)

The surface of the ground is about 48.000 square meters, of which 32.000 square meters are used for as a rehabilitation hospital, houses for people with disabilities, diagnostics, laboratories, education and research centres.
The new buildings, around 32.000 further square meters, will double the existing activities and beds, due to new needs of reduction of the period of hospitalisation in favour of a longer stay in specialised and less hospital-oriented rehabilitation centres.
